SIMON CONTI
Simon’s work highlights and isolates objects that are ubiquitous in our day-to-day lives.
Much time is spent investigating objects with camera and often contrived lighting set-ups. The images are then used to create photopolymer plates from which prints are created.
The process is informed both by his degree in Photography as well as having spent many years working in an historical picture archive as curator and later head of reprographics.
Most recently, Simon has been delving into examples of natural form and old glass pieces and this has resulted in outcomes which are quite elemental and graphic.
His printmaking has been exhibited in a number of shows including the Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair and Ironbrdge Fine Arts’ Annual print show. His photography has been selected for a number of shows in London but his focus is now very much on his printmaking adventure!
